About The Job
Dudek’s Proposal Services Senior Manager is a hands-on strategic role that implements the vision of the proposal team under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing to serve current and future states of proposals. The Senior Proposal Manager supports developing processes, tools, and programs for the continued growth of the team to meet the strategic marketing needs of the company. Responsibilities include managing, training, and mentoring staff while managing workload processes and assignment allocation. The ideal candidate is a dynamic marketer with experience supporting a fast-paced proposal workload and team; has strong writing and communication skills; has a problem-solving attitude; and ensures incoming work requests are met and delivered on time and according to quality standards. Previous supervisory and staff management experience is required as this role is responsible for supervising a multi-state, hybrid proposal team. Activities may also include leading highly strategic, complex opportunities for multi-disciplinary teams completing diverse and concurrent tasks and participating as a key member of task teams supporting cross-departmental initiatives that drive Dudek's strategic direction.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below): 
  • Team Management

  • Manages team members virtually and in-person as leader of the proposals team
  • Leads proposal staff meetings, participates in Marketing and Communications leadership meetings, and implements initiatives and programs that support digital and traditional marketing and business development activities
  • Manages staffing for the proposal team, including hiring and retention decisions for employees
  • Under direction of VP of Marketing, develops processes, tools, and training materials/programs to retain and support existing and new proposal marketers
  • Delegates to and leverages team member skills and expertise to meet group goals
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations and goal setting with proposal team members
  • Other team management duties as arise
  • Project Management

  • Ensures that all proposal support requests are assigned in a timely manner, following up with requestors as needed to clarify details
  • Ability to manage the full RFP process, coordinating the proposal teams, writing strategic content, and delivering completed proposals within schedule and quality standards
  • Oversees quality control for proposal team processes and programs
  • Develops and delivers firmwide training programs and resources
  • Responsible for proposal data analytics and metrics
  • Collaborates with VP of Marketing on broader marketing initiatives and with the Business Development Manager, Communication Manager, and Publications Manager on project pursuits
  • Other project management duties as arise
Minimum Requirements
  • 10+ years’ proposal experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, English or a related field
  • Skilled in managing  proposal workload for a team
  • Experience supervising and leading proposal teams, ensuring efficiency and compliance in the proposal process

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates leadership and effective team-building skills with the ability to create a trusting dynamic between team members
  • Excellent business writing skills and a working knowledge of document editing and formatting
  • Experience working with proposal teams is necessary and familiarity with terminology of environmental and engineering professions is a preferred
  • Thorough understanding of proposal process and decisive approach to maintaining established proposal quality standards
  • Problem-solving capabilities, with an emphasis on managing proposal resources and staff to meet established deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to describe problems and solutions to team members
  • Skilled in proposal metrics to provide accurate benchmarks, status, and forecasts
  • Capable of constructively teaching and learning from teammates. Positive attitude in the face of changing demands and deadlines.
  • Mastery of MS Word; advanced skills in Adobe InDesign and MS PowerPoint and Excel are a plus

Working Conditions:
  • This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.
  • This job requires occasional project site visits-based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment.

Proposed Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 annually*

*Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
