About The Job Dudek is currently seeking a full-time Senior Engineer in our Engineering Practice group with specialized experience in wastewater treatment plant planning, design, and rehabilitation. This position provides technical design as part of our overall practice group, which provides full service planning and engineering consulting services for a wide range of water, sewer, recycled water and stormwater infrastructure projects. With over 900 wastewater treatment plants in California alone, processing approximately 4 billion gallons of wastewater daily, the need for engineering consulting on process efficiency, reliability, expansion and rehabilitation could not be greater. This hybrid environment role at Dudek provides for the diversity to support teams across the state while balancing work and personal life. As a senior engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
Both lead and support the planning and design of treatment plant capital improvement projects.
Be or become the subject matter expert in the areas of conventional wastewater treatment using process such as activated sludge, fixed-film processes, biological nutrient removal, chemical/physical primary treatment, membrane bio-reactors, tertiary filtration, disinfection, and biosolids processing.
Provide engineering support services during the construction phases of improvement projects.
Be part of a growing consultant team focused on providing much needed support of rehabilitation and improvements to critical and aging infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below):
Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables, including process models, process/mass balance calculations, design criteria/basis of design memoranda, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and master planning studies
Develops recommendations for appropriate treatment processes, equipment and/or materials selection
Oversees collection, analysis, and management of data for process modeling and design work
Prepares process models and carries out complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Develops conceptual-level life cycle costs to evaluate treatment options
Actively coordinates with internal and external team members for successful project execution
Capability to work in the field, including construction observation, inspections, field measurements, and monitoring equipment setup, as necessary.
Capability to travel within California including but not limited to meeting with clients, plant site walks, attending conferences and professional organization events, and perform project-related field work, as necessary.
Training and delegating tasks as appropriate to team members in order to balance workload and efficiently get project tasks completed.
Minimum Requirements:
Professional Civil Engineer licensed in the State of California.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or a similar discipline.
8 years engineering experience in related work experience.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft office (Word and Excel), have excellent writing, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with AutoCAD design software
* As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.
Preferred Requirements:
10 years of experience in wastewater treatment with at least 5 years in water quality and treatment (water quality analysis, treatment evaluations, process design, regulatory compliance assessments, etc.).
Advanced degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering preferred.
Advanced knowledge of process design for treatment of municipal wastewater, engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
Effective written and oral communications

This job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.

Proposed Salary Range:$140,00-200,000/annually* *Final agreed upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
